The central focus of the study, which is expected to be completed early next year, is "to solve military airspace requirements in a way that meets the needs of other airspace users," the article said. The state is attempting to get ahead of what it views as a burgeoning billion-dollar industry and is working with Indiana to obtain from the Federal Aviation Administration a designation that the UAS Center & Test Complex in Springfield will be "one of six sites across the country to test the integration of unmanned systems in the nation's airspace system."
