A study funded by the Ohio Development Services Agency (DSA) and administered by the Dayton Development Coalition aims to determine what the military's needs are with regard to unmanned aircraft or drones, the Dayton Business Journal reports. The central focus of the study, which is expected to be completed early next year, is "to solve military airspace requirements in a way that meets the needs of other airspace users," the article said. The state is attempting to get ahead of what it views as a burgeoning billion-dollar industry and is working with Indiana to obtain from the Federal Aviation Administration a designation that the UAS Center & Test Complex in Springfield will be "one of six sites across the country to test the integration of unmanned systems in the nation's airspace system."
