Ohio Venture Capital Fund is ranked number one in a national assessment

Prequin, a “leading provider of data and research on private equity, real estate, hedge and infrastructure funds, and other alternative investments,” determined that when compared to 38 other funds that were initiated in 2003, the Athens-based Athenian Venture Partners (AVP) Ohio Fund “is the most successful in the U.S. in both net return multiple (4.95x) and internal rate of return (31%),” according to a press release from the Ohio Department of Development. With a presence in California, Massachusetts and Ohio, AVP focuses on information technology and healthcare investments, and 90 percent of the AVP Ohio Fund’s capital is “invested in Ohio-based companies,” the release said.
