Number of shale permits issued in Ohio growing by leaps and bounds

The Associated Press reports that Ohio has issued 141 drilling permits – 131 for the Utica shale and 10 for the Marcellus – so far this year. By comparison, the state issued only three permits for Utica shale between 2009 and 2010, and only six permits for Marcellus shale between 2006 and 2010.  Click here to read a summary of the story from the Business Courier (subscription required).
