New statewide organization formed to promote Ohio's advanced energy industry

A new statewide organization has been formed to expand Ohio’s advanced energy industry.

Today, Advanced Energy Economy Ohio was announced at NorTech’s Advanced Energy B2B Conference and Expo.  Kimberly Gibson of EWI Energy Center in Columbus will serve as executive director and Steve Caminati, the executive director of the Ohio Business Council, will provide assistance.

According to Mr. Caminati, Advanced Energy Economy Ohio was created to “speak with a louder, unified voice” when trying to influence federal and state policies.  The group is tasked with promoting growth of the advanced energy industry in the Northeast while defining Ohio's strengths and helping companies capitalize on related opportunities.

The eight inaugural members of the organization will be NorTech, the Ohio Business Council, EWI (formerly the Edison Welding Institute), CincyTech, the Dayton Business Development Coalition, Rocket Ventures of Toledo, TechColumbus and TechGrowth Ohio of Athens.  More details are available at Crain's Cleveland Business (subscription required).
