New route will provide daily service from Toledo to North Carolina
American Airlines will launch a new twice-daily nonstop service between Toledo and Charlotte, North Carolina beginning August 22, the Journal-News reports. The service between Toledo Express Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport is “expected to increase total traffic at [Toledo Express] by as much as 30 percent,” according to the article. President and chief executive officer of the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority Paul Toth said a $750,000 grant that the airport received from the federal government in 2011 “would help subsidize the cost of the flights.” For more, read the full article.
