New business park in Canton looks to the oil and gas industry for tenants
Last week, the Canton Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) paid $564 to purchase 17 acres where the former Weber Dental and Ohio Cast Products sites are located, according to CantonRep.com. The Joseph A. Jeffries Company out of Louisville will develop a 26-acre business park at the site, and has plans to locate tenants within the oil and gas industry. Chemical contamination was previously discovered at the Ohio Cast Products site, for which it received a $3.3 million grant for cleanup efforts in 2008. Now, CIC is trying to get money from the Clean Ohio Fund to "finish the site clean-up on the Weber Dental site," the article said. For more, read the full story.
