A resolution to annex four parcels of Jersey Township land totaling approximately 75 acres was approved by New Albany City Council in February, ThisWeek Community News reports. The New Albany Co., co-founded by L Brands Chairman and CEO Leslie Wexner, owns the land, located south of state Route 161 along Worthington Road and Beech Road. The company requested the annexation “in order to be ready to take advantage of development opportunities as they arise,” said New Albany City Manager Joseph Stefanov in the article. After Jersey Township trustees consent to the agreement, the Licking County commissioners must also approve it. According to Stefanov, the agreement “will include sending a portion of property-tax revenue back” to Jersey Township, ThisWeek reports. Stefanov said “he expects the city to offer a tax-abatement incentive for the land.” For more, read the full article.
