Local construction and development company Schumacher Dugan envisions a nearly $50 million mixed-use project featuring green space on a property on Ohio 747 between Kyles Station Road and Millikin Road, the Journal-News reports. The Muncy Farm development would include upscale apartments, retail and office space, with a residential rather than a commercial feel to it, according to the article. Tenants “would likely include ‘typical neighborhood retail’ . . . such as a dentist or doctor’s office, bank, pizza store, dry cleaning” and other typical neighborhood services, said Chris Wunnenberg, director of development for Schumacher Dugan. Additionally, a little more than half the site would be devoted to green space, “featuring walking paths, wooded areas, retention ponds, fountains and a stream.” The project would require trustees to approve zoning map amendment and preliminary planned unit development; both the Liberty Twp. Zoning Commission and the Butler County Planning Commission have recommended approval for the development. If trustees approve the zoning change at the December 15 meeting, “the project would progress in phases,” with infrastructure and a signalized intersection completed before buildings are constructed.
