National employment summary: June 2012

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released data today stating that nationally, non-farm payroll employment rose by 80,000 during the month of June and the unemployment rate, 8.2 percent, was unchanged from last month. BLS also noted that private sector employment rose in the areas of professional and business services; however, employment changed very little in most other major industries over the month.

Ohio’s June 2012 unemployment rates and nonagricultural wage and salary data will be released by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services (ODJFS) on Friday, July 20, 2012. This information and the monthly statistical summaries on which it is based are available here.
