The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released data today stating that nationally, non-farm payroll employment rose by 163,000 during the month of July and the unemployment rate, 8.3 percent, increased slightly from last month. BLS also noted that private sector employment rose in the areas of professional and business services, food services and drinking places, and manufacturing.
