The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released data today stating that nationally, non-farm payroll employment rose by 96,000 during the month of August and the unemployment rate, 8.1 percent, decreased from last month’s 8.3 percent. BLS also noted that private sector employment rose in the areas of professional and technical services, food services and drinking places, and healthcare.
