The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released data today stating that nationally, non-farm payroll employment continued to trend up by more than 80,000 in October, and the unemployment rate lowered by 0.1 percent to an even 9.0 percent. BLS noted that the increase in employment was due to an uptick in private sector hiring, with modest job growth in professional and business services, leisure and hospitality, health care and mining. Governmental employment continues to trend downward.
