Florida-based NTE Solutions announced this week that it plans to construct a $500 million natural gas power plant in Butler County that will "have the power to supply 400,000 homes," the Dayton Business Journal reports. The three-year construction phase for the power plant, which is to be called The Middletown Energy Center, is expected to begin next year and employ between 300 and 400 construction workers. The plant is expected to create 30 permanent jobs once operations begin there in 2018, and "will employ Mitsubishi advanced turbine technology in a combined cycle configuration, utilizing the exhaust heat of the gas turbine to produce steam to generate additional energy in a steam turbine generator."
