Financial-services company Morgan Stanley & Co. plans to create 300 new jobs with a total annual payroll of $13.5 million “as part of an expansion of its offices at Easton to support its wealth-management business,” The Columbus Dispatch reports. The company plans to add 13,581 square feet to its existing office space “and invest $1.5 million,” according to the article. Sheila Welch, Morgan Stanley’s head of global workforce strategy, said in a statement, “Morgan Stanley has successfully established a strong presence in the Columbus area, designating it as one of our centers of excellence. These business centers support our global workforce strategy and aim to leverage talent in targeted regions to help us meet key business objectives.” Columbus City Council is expected to vote November 21 on legislation that would award the company financial incentives for the expansion totaling “between $506,250 and $607,500 over six years.” Even with the incentives, the city “figures to net $1.4 million to $1.5 million in income-tax revenue over that period.” For more, read the full article.
