The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority is partnering with several minority-owned companies for the redevelopment of the former Millennium Hotel, The Cincinnati Herald reports. Port CEO and President Laura N. Brunner said, “[o]ur goal from the very start has been to make the Millennium Hotel project a model for building a more diverse workforce and a stronger community of minority-owned businesses,” according to the article. The contract for demolition was awarded to the O’Rourke Wrecking Company, a Women’s Business Enterprise based in Cincinnati. Construction management company Turner Construction is partnering with d.e. Foxx & Associates, a minority-owned construction management firm, to oversee demolition. Turner will also partner with d.e.
