Liberty Center’s impact on the local landscape will be “wide-ranging”

The impact of the soon-to-open $350 million Liberty Center is already being felt, and Liberty Township Trustee Tom Farrell says the development will “change Liberty’s landscape forever,” reports Today’s Pulse. The Butler County Visitors Bureau expects the complex “to draw more than 10 million people a year to shop and dine.” That amount of foot traffic is enough to “attract other businesses wanting a piece of the action,” and bring in an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 outside visitors each year, making it “a major game changer,” said the bureau’s executive director, Mark Hecquet, in the article. Commercial property values in the Liberty Way corridor have already increased, and Liberty Twp. “currently reigns as the top community for new home construction in Greater Cincinnati.” While retail development naturally increases theft and traffic calls, Liberty Center is modeling its approach after Easton Town Center and similar retail outlets “by combining retail-provided security with area law enforcement,” Today’s Pulse reports. The center “will pay the salary of one Butler County Sheriff’s Office deputy to take on the job as a full-time responsibility, working hand-in-hand with Liberty Center’s own security force.” For more, read the full article.
