(LEEDCo)’s proposed Icebreaker offshore wind turbine project, The Chronicle-Telegram reports. The DOE “made LEEDCo a runner-up when it announced in 2014 that it would be awarding $47 million in grants to offshore projects in the Atlantic Ocean [see our May 16, 2014 blog post].” Because other projects “have fallen behind the government’s engineering development schedule,” LEEDCo hopes the DOE will declare the 20-megawatt Icebreaker project a finalist and transfer a primary grant to it.
