JobsOhio reviews its progress and opportunities for improvement

Making Ohio “one of the great health care clusters in the U.S.” is one goal JobsOhio outlined in its recent quarterly board meeting, Crain’s Cleveland reports. In 2017, JobsOhio “helped biohealth businesses that invested $288 million in Ohio operations that created 4,139 new jobs.” JobsOhio president and CEO John Minor discussed a performance assessment commissioned from management consultant McKinsey & Co. that reviewed the organization’s progress and identified areas that need improvement, which include talent, sites, and infrastructure, according to the article. McKinsey “ranked JobsOhio among the top five in a group of 17 state economic development organizations it used for comparison.” JobsOhio “ranked among the top three in jobs” it helped create from 2013 to 2017 and in the top five in the number of deals during that time.
