Leaders of economic development programs in Jackson, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties recently formed an unincorporated not-for-profit association known as the Joint Economic Development Initiative of Southern Ohio (JEDISO), The Community Common reports. JEDISO will not replace any existing economic development organizations, but will complement the activities of those groups. Initial funding for the effort comes through a $126,000 grant from the Fluor-B&W Community Commitment Fund, which will enable JEDISO to "market the region collaboratively” as it recovers from the closing of the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant, the article said.
