Honda executive on loan to lead OSU’s manufacturing institute for two years

Rich Spivey, senior manager of the Marysville-based arm of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., will serve as the first full-time executive director of the Ohio Manufacturing Institute (OMI) at Ohio State University, Columbus Business First reports. Spivey, whom Honda is providing to OMI on a two-year loan, will help the institute “work with manufacturers to match and solve their technical needs with the exceptional resources available in the state of Ohio,” the article said. The Ohio Department of Development recently awarded OMI a $150,000 grant that “will be used to provide manufacturers with greater access to experts,” the article said. For more, read the full story.
