Enhancing downtown, balancing economic growth top issues for Hudson Comprehensive Plan

Hudson’s Planning Commission is still reviewing the draft of the new Comprehensive Plan that outlines the strategy for the city’s growth and development over the next 10 to 20 years, the Hudson Hub-Times reports. Residents participated in developing the plan; top issues identified include “balancing economic growth with the local character, increasing non-motorized connections, enhancing the downtown core” and support for local schools, among others, according to the article. The Downtown Phase II Planning Study is a key part of the plan; Phase II development “would include office uses, condominiums and single family attached homes within a mixed-use walkable environment that blends with downtown Hudson.” Additionally, the plan proposes a new Municipal Services Center “near the existing fire, EMS and police department facilities.” The plan can be viewed by clicking here, and then clicking on the Clocktower link “Comprehensive Plan 2015.” For more, read the full article.
