Development that would “reshape” Turtlecreek Twp. down to final vote

Trustees of Turtlecreek Township “will become the final body to decide” the fate of a development that would reshape the area and potentially attract $1.5 billion in investment, the Dayton Daily News reports. Union Village, a 1,400-acre, 4,500-home planned community would nearly double the local population and create 3,400 jobs. Trustees “will vote on the tax [increment] financing (TIF) district that will forgive half of the property taxes on homes and all the property taxes on commercial developments for 20 years to offset the cost of construction of roads and other infrastructure for the project,” according to the article. The proposed community would include a sports park, a college campus, an arts center, and medical facilities. For more, read the full article.
