A group looking to redevelop an area of downtown Miamisburg is working with the city on a grant agreement for two businesses to move into a long-vacant building, bringing jobs with them, the Dayton Daily News reports. Children’s clothing store Luna Blues and restaurant OinkADoodleMoo “will be moving into the former Jack Summers site at 40 N. Main St. likely by the end of the year,” said an official with the North Main Renaissance Project, the group working with the city on the $55,000 grant. The two businesses will bring “about 15 jobs . . . with possibly more to follow,” and will occupy almost half of the property’s leasable space, according to the article. Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine said recent downtown redevelopment has been mostly on the southern portion, so the city is hoping this deal “will generate some more activity on the north end of downtown.” Jim Dunn, one of the five owners of the North Main Renaissance Project, said the group has “‘been getting a lot of activity’ with other potential tenants” for the remaining space in the former Jack Summers site.
