Wind energy company EverPower will be moving forward with its wind farm near Indian Lake in Logan County after coming to an agreement with community members and making some changes to the original proposal for the project, the Dayton Daily News reports. Don Eggenschwiller, leader of Logan Hardin Neighbors United, said some members were concerned that the original proposal to build wind turbines “about a quarter of a mile from Indian Lake” would impact the area’s tourism business. In response to the community’s concerns, EverPower has reduced the number of turbines by 65, “allowing approximately 107 turbines,” and will build them “more than 2.5 miles” from the lake. EverPower Project Manager Jason Dagger said the wind farm “will produce about 225 megawatts of energy when it is complete,” and will bring in “about $1.5 million in tax revenue each year for Logan and Hardin Counties,” according to the article. The project will create about 150 temporary jobs and about 12 permanent jobs, Dagger said.
