The largest manufacturer of sour cream in the U.S., Daisy Brand, will add 80 jobs to its Wooster facility as part of “an approximately $45 million expansion,” the Akron Beacon Journal reports. The company, which “will build a 100,000-square-foot addition to accommodate several new packaging lines,” said “Wooster continues to be attractive for Daisy to invest” in. Rural Wayne County is Ohio’s “top milk producer” among the state’s 88 counties. The Texas-based company broke ground on the $116-million, 90-employee Wooster facility in 2014, making it Daisy’s first production facility east of the Mississippi River and its third in the country. According to the article, “Wooster, the Wayne Economic Development Council, Team Northeast Ohio and . . . JobsOhio developed an incentive package for the expansion.”
