Nonprofit housing developer Homeport got approval from Columbus City Council for its plans for the $25 million mixed-use Mulby Place development in Linden, which could soon break ground, Columbus Business First reports. City leaders and developers “are hoping the project kickstarts revitalization efforts in ‘downtown Linden,’” according to the article. The first phase includes “two, three-story buildings with 70 one-bedroom units and 30 two-bedroom units,” a gated courtyard between the two buildings, and community and fitness rooms. The second phase will “add 10 single-family, three-bedroom homes,” Leah Evans, senior vice president for development at Homeport, said. Evans said, “[w]e want to continue the work the community has already started and build on assets already there,” saying the area was previously “a hub of activity” with a main street, retail, services and more.
