Cleveland Foundation authorizes $15.3 million in grants to bolster economic development and other vital efforts

Last week, the Cleveland Foundation authorized $15.3 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations devoted to economic development, public health, public education reform, and the promotion of arts and culture, The Plain Dealer reports. Economic development efforts received $2.8 million in awards, including $400,000 that will enable Columbus-based micro-lender Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI) to expand into Cuyahoga County. The remaining economic development awards were allocated, as follows, to five Cleveland-area nonprofits: $675,000 to NorTech, $500,000 to JumpStart, Inc., $500,000 to Team NEO, $400,000 to MAGNET, and $325,000 to BioEnterprise Corporation.
