Columbus-based American Electric Power Company Inc. (AEP) recently announced that it awarded a $10,000 economic development grant to go toward assessing interest in the formation of the DelaTek Technology Incubator in the city of Delaware, Columbus Business First reports. Several entities have partnered on the project, including the city, which has "agreed to provide $30,000 toward bringing high-capacity fiber-optic services" to a building recently purchased by the project's leader – local call center consulting firm, Mediu LLC. Delaware County's economic development director, Gus Comstock, is also helping with the project, but he remains frustrated that his four years of working toward creating a similar incubator for the county have so far been in vain.
