Charter One has pledged a second round of support for Ohio City redevelopment efforts

The Charter One Foundation, through its Growing Communities Initiative, will allocate $183,000 this year to five nonprofits with programs focused on rejuvenating Ohio City, a northwest side Cleveland community.

Last year, the foundation donated $145,000 to assist with development in the Ohio City Market District, bringing Charter One Foundation’s total economic development investment in this community to roughly $330,000.

The grants have helped create or expand small businesses and promote revitalization efforts that include urban farming, employment and job training, health programs and public art, according to a news release issued by the foundation.  More information is posted in Crain's Cleveland Business (subscription required).
