Scotland-based BrewDog brewery has acquired a home for its U.S. brewery complex with the $1.5 million purchase of 51 acres on Gender Road in Canal Winchester, Columbus Business First reports. The craft beer brewer “plans to spend $30.4 million on the project,” which will include “a 100,000-square-foot brewery, plus offices, a taproom, a restaurant and a visitors’ center.” BrewDog expects to employ 170 people by 2020, with a projected annual payroll of $6.54 million, according to the article. The project received both state and city incentives, including an “eight-year, 60 percent state income tax break, valued at $659,000.” The city of Canal Winchester also supported the development with “a 15-year, 100 percent abatement estimated at $182,000 annually or $2.73 million over the 15-year term.” Canal Winchester’s total incentive package is “estimated at $3.45 million.” For more, read the full article.
