The Municipal Income Tax Uniformity Coalition, which is comprised of 14 Ohio business groups, are pushing for reforms that would "create a uniform code with clear definitions of income, tax withholding, penalties and related regulations" in an effort to make the state more attractive to businesses that work across multiple jurisdictions, Columbus Business First reports. While the coalition primarily works with three state representatives to develop a uniform tax code, another group — the Ohio Municipal League — is concerned that these reforms, if realized, may take away local control and management of revenue by charging the state with the task of collecting and distributing municipal income taxes, the article said.
