FTC steps up cybersecurity issues
As we’ve recently discussed, the Anthem data breach has raised the profile of the conversation regarding cybersecurity regulation and standards. A recent SC Magazine article describes the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as the primary federal watchdog when it comes to cybersecurity. The article lays out both sides of a debate regarding the FTC’s involvement in the matter — the FTC, on one side, believes its involvement and cybersecurity standards have been plenty clear; the business community, on the other side, disagrees.
